How it works

A filing service does the paperwork and hits the deadline. Here is exactly what happens.

  1. Tell us about your LLC

You give us your LLC name, home state, and formation date. We look up your exact filing requirement, the state fee, and your next deadline.

  2. We prepare your report

We pre-fill the state form from your entity record and flag anything that looks out of date, like a changed address or registered agent.

  3. You review an itemized quote

Before we charge anything, you see the state fee and our flat service fee separately, and you confirm the report is correct.

  4. We file and pay the state

We submit the filing to the Secretary of State and pay the government fee on your behalf.

  5. You get stamped confirmation

We email you the state confirmation for your records, and set a reminder for next year.

You are always in control. We never file anything without your explicit approval of the itemized quote, and you can file directly with your state yourself at any time. FilingPilot is a private service and is not a government agency.

Common questions

Do I have to use a service to file my annual report?

No. You can always file directly with your Secretary of State yourself, usually online. People use FilingPilot to save time and to be sure the deadline is never missed.

Are you affiliated with the state?

No. We are an independent private company. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to any government agency. The state fee we collect is passed through to the government at cost.

What happens if I miss a deadline before signing up?

We can still file a late report, but the state may add its own late penalty or, in some states, may have already begun administrative dissolution. We'll tell you your exact status before you pay.

How do you keep my information secure?

We collect only what a filing requires, transmit it over encrypted connections, and never sell your data. See our privacy practices for details.
